FAQ: Text

We are open for drop-offs and collections between 9am-12pm every morning and 4pm-7pm every evening.

Prior to boarding, you should ensure your dogs are protected against Kennel Cough (Tracheobronchitis), Parvovirus, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Distemper and Hardpad disease. Always check with your vet prior to boarding to ensure all your dogs' vaccinations are up-to-date, and remember they cannot be boarded until 14 days post-vaccination. Cats must be vaccinated with all relevant vaccinations.

*Note* The Kennel Cough vaccination does not protect against every strain of cough there is, so even after having the vaccination, they could still contract it.

*PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING ALL VACCINATION CARDS WHEN DROPPING OFF YOUR DOG/CAT!*

Does my dog need to be neutered / spayed?

Female dogs do not need to be spayed, but we would appreciate if you could let us know if your dog could go into heat during their stay so we can arrange a quieter room for them.

Male dogs over 6 months old must be neutered.

What if my dog is nervous?

We are always very grateful if you can inform us at the time of booking if your pet is a bit nervous or has never been socialised, so that we can have a suitable room ready and waiting for them.

We would never force your pets into greeting us – we will let them come to us in their own time. Trust is key, so with nervous animals we will work on building that trust with your pet as soon as their holiday begins. You may also find the following suggestions helpful:

Feel free to come and visit us with your dog before their holiday begins so they can get used to the surroundings. You could even let them have a trial overnight stay. This way, they will know where they are, who they're with and, most importantly, that their owners will be coming back! It will also be helpful for us to see how your pet reacts/behaves to the new experience and this will allow us to judge the best area for your pet when they come for their proper holiday. We will tell you exactly how your pet dealt with their experience, and we will also give our honest opinion as to whether or not we feel we comfortable taking the dog after all.

Many customers often try wearing an old T-shirt or jumper a day or two before holiday time and send it along with their dog. A familiar home scent can really make all the difference.

If your dog suffers extreme nervousness or separation anxiety, why not try an over-the-counter remedy? Your local vet can discuss with you what is best for your pet. Please keep in mind that it can take up to two weeks for some treatments to take effect, so please don't leave it too late!

Do you provide food? How often is my pet fed?

The owner provides the food for their pet. We will feed your pet as often as they are fed at home. If you would like to leave a note on the bag of food detailing portion sizes and how often they should be fed, please feel free to do so.

Can I come and have a look around before my pet is due to come in?

We are not presently giving tours of the facility. We stopped conducting tours during the Covid-19 pandemic and have opted not to resume doing so for a variety of reasons: giving tours of the place reduces the amount of time that we have to look after the pets, and having strangers walk around the facility causes unnecessary stress for the pets that are staying here.

FAQ: Text

Where will my pet sleep?

All the rooms are indoors, as close to a domestic style as possible. Every room is equipped with the appropriate bedding for your pet. All the rooms are heated in winter or in cold weather. The small-dog area and the cattery have oil-fired central heating and heat lamps.

Do you have security?

Yes. This is a family home, so there is always somebody here, and we have CCTV cameras built around the premises.
